It is my pleasure to offer you this vintage Art Nouveau Vase produced by Rozenburg The Hague Holland.
Originally the policy of Wilhelm Wolff von Gudenberg (the founder of Rozenburg in The Hague) was to produce earthenware in the way as it it was done at De Porceleyne Fles in Delft, where he himself had worked for some time as a painter. But at the same time he experimented a great deal with new techniques for decorating and glazing and with the arrival of Theodorus A.C. Colenbrander in 1884 the historical production got a totally different character. In 1889 they both left the company and decorations of vases from that time were highly influenced by the Art Nouveau movement with its flowing lines and natural objects.
This glossy trumpet shaped vase is such a wonderful item. The square foot developes in a circular trumpet. Decorated at 4 sections with a eagles in cobalt, green and brown at the top and stylised art nouveau patterns at the lower part. Enjoy the pictures.
Fully marked with Rozenburg Den Haag and the factory logo (the Stork from the coat of arms of the city of The Hague), the mould# 351, an incised number W356G and the initials of the painter Sam Schellink.
