It has been designed by Bjorn Wiinnblad and tells one of the adventures of Sinbad, the sailor from Basrah who was during the Abbasid Caliphate the hero of a story-cycle of Middle Eastern origin.

During his voyages throughout the seas east of Africa and south of Asia, he has fantastic adventures going to magical places, meeting monsters, and encountering supernatural phenomena.

At the end of the 5th voyage a ship carries Sinbad to the City of the Apes, a place whose inhabitants spend each night in boats off-shore, while their town is abandoned to man-eating apes. Yet through the apes Sinbad recoups his fortune, and so eventually finds a ship which takes him home once more to Bagdad

This plate shows the scene with the pearl fishermen who make him a wealthy man.
