 It is my pleasure to offer you this magnificent handpainted Delft Wall Plate produced by Plateelfabriek Zuid Holland PZH.

A typical Dutch landscape painted with high craftmanship.

The handpainted items of De Porceleyne Fles are famous all over the world, but it was not the only factory that made wonderful 100% handpainted Delft. Proof of that is this exceptional wall plate, produced in the middle of last century by PZH. PZH became famous for their handpainted Gouda with the special glazings and vibrant colours. It was rewarded the title "Royal" in 1932 by H.R.H. Queen Wilhelmina. In the middle of the thirties PZH started with a succesfull series of handpainted Blue Delft as an addition to the famous Gouda.

It is a pity that this factory that produced all that colorful Gouda Pottery had to close its doors in 1965. Its production methods were too expensive, mainly caused by the fact that they sticked to 100% handpainting for all items. Many moulds of this factory have been taken over by Goedewaagen.

The painters of PZH were very well skilled and trained. This wonderful bowl still witnesses their craftsmanship with this unique floral design and the enormous variation in floral shapes and many tints and shades of blue.

Marked at the bottom with the mould# 5110/40, "Koninklijk Delft" (Royal Delft), the royal crown, the factory logo, "Made in Holland, Handpainted" and the painters initials (intertwined) P.S. for Ms. P. Steine.

Because of the high glossy glazing an item like this in reality is far more attractive than can be shown on pictures. They feel very sturdy and high quality compared with many other well known manufacturers of Blue Delft. Many customers have been pleasantly surprised by PZH Delft Blue.

AGE: 1935-1945

DIMENSIONS: Diameter is 16 inches (37 cm).

CONDITION: EXCELLENT. This plate is in PERFECT condition. No cracks, chips, flakes or any other flaws. A real treasure for any TOP QUALITY HANDPAINTED DELFT Collection.

The white spots on some pictures are the reflection of my photo lights.
