It is my pleasure to offer you this exceptional wallplate produced by RAAM Faïence.

About the same time that the famous RAM Plateelbakkerij in Arnhem stopped production in 1945, RAAM Delfter Faïence was founded. The similarity in names was not coïncidental because Raam took over much of the RAM moulds and designs and many of their best employees in 1945. Like RAM, RAAM had a brilliant Blue Delft similar to that of the Porceleyne Fles and Makkum and they made a very high quality handpainted Delftware.

But after thirty years of success the fully handpainted production process appeared to be too expensive and the factory had to close their doors in the early 80-ties.

RAAM made in my opinion one of the best handpainted Delft items ever produced. Judge for yourself and enjoy the pictures. Second to NONE.

RAAM was very successful in Germany where high quality was mandatory for the indulged German customer who was spoiled by the many top quality porcelain factories.

All RAAM items are fully marked at the underside. This plate shows the mould# 434/4, a crown, "DELFT BLUE", the factory mark (a windmill named "eertyds"), "Holland", the painters signature and "Rembrandt Sefportrait".

AGE: 1950-1960

DIMENSIONS: Diameter is 15.5 inches (=39 cm).

CONDITION: EXCELLENT. This plate is in PERFECT condition. No cracks, chips, flakes or any other flaws. A real treasure for any TOP QUALITY HANDPAINTED DELFT Collection.

The white spots on some pictures are the reflection of my photo lights.
