It is my pleasure to offer you this giant handpainted Delft Stein / Tankard of the BACCHUS Brewery.
In Baasrode on the river Schelde in East Flanders, Balthazar Petrus De Landtsheer exploited Brewery "De Halve Maan" since 1772. His son married Nathalia Pissoort and they got 10 children, but only 2 daugthers stayed alive. One of them married Franciscus Fredericus D'Hollander (1846-1908), the son of the Brewer of Oudegem and the brewery got a new name "Bacchus". From then the family D´Hollander stayed in charge of the brewery. Panter beer was a product of the sixties which was promoted by a huge campaing in which this stein used.
Fully marked at the underside with: "Handwerk Delft Holland" and the painter's initial.
AGE: 1960-1965
DIMENSIONS: Height is 12½ inches.
CONDITION: EXCELLENT. This stein is in PERFECT condition. No cracks, chips, flakes or any other flaws.
The white spots on some pictures are the reflection of my photo lights.
