It is my pleasure to offer you this Delft Imari WALL PLATE produced by The Royal Porceleyne Fles in Delft The Netherlands.
De Porceleyne Fles was founded in 1653 however it got famous when Joost Thooft took over this small factory at Delft in 1876. He produced traditional blue on white Delft ware and tile tableaus but with a new technique.
Next to the Delft Blue and Polychrome products Fles produced various other colour ranges, even Delft Black. This item is from the Pijnacker line which is the most collectible Porceleyne Fles line with decorations in red, blue and gold colors, also called Delft Imari or Delft Doré. Adriaan Pijnacker copied the 17th century Japanese Imari in the 18th century and Delft Imari was born.
This is such a professionally painted Pijnacker wall plate.
Fully marked on the bottom with the yearmark CI (=1964), the Royal Delft Logo, The stylized JT of Joost Thooft and the painters initials I.Sl.
